The Diagram of Everything Living

The Side Octave From the Sun

Robin Bloor

The “Diagram of Everything Living” first presented in Ouspensky’s book “In Search of the Miraculous,” attempts to represent the interconnectedness and hierarchical nature of all forms of life, from the most rudimentary to the most evolved.

Each of its series of interconnected squares represents a different level of consciousness or being. The squares are arranged in a hierarchical order, with the higher levels representing more developed forms of life. The diagram is not just a representation of the universe of living things, it can also be used as a tool for self-understanding and spiritual development. By studying the diagram, individuals can gain a better understanding of their own place in the universe and the different levels of consciousness that they could potentially achieve.

The diagram has been interpreted in many different ways, and there is no single definitive interpretation. However, it is generally understood to be a representation of:

  • The interconnectedness of all things
  • The hierarchical nature of life
  • The potential for spiritual growth and development
