“The teaching is outside of all religious dogma, outside of all politics. Never talk about such.”
~ Gurdjieff

Hi

Now that the 2nd and 3rd Series Study Groups have completed examining Gurdjieff’s later books, we have decided to embark on a different kind of study group, under the title of Gurdjieff Oskiano. The word ‘Oskiano,’ which we loosely describe as education, has a specific etymology. It means ‘sacred gold,’ – oski is Armenian for ‘gold’ and ano is the suffix Gurdjieff uses in The Tales to indicate sacred processes – ano is Greek meaning ‘upwards’ or ‘opening to the higher’ (hence, for example, ‘anode’).

Our intention is to share and discuss valuable information from any part of The Work. There will be two presentations plus Q&A and then open discussions. Two topics per event. Events will be every four weeks. If you want more information click here.

The Summer Solstice, by the way, has passed. Immediately after it, the weather in Texas became brutally hot. We’ve had “hundred degree days” ever since. (For those of you who live by the Centigrade scale that’s above 37.8 degrees). There’s more talk than usual about global warming – apropos of which, if Great Nature wants a warmer world there’s nothing mankind can do to stop it. So little gets done in that direction that maybe Great Nature has instructed mankind to create a warmer world…
Gurdjieff Oskiano. First Event July 27th. More details to be added…

To all our American readers, Happy 4th July in a day or two!!

1 Corinthians 13

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not Love, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, …

Kundabuffer and Old Age

This is perhaps one of the most poignant parts of the Tales – especially for readers who are no longer young.
“Before continuing to tell you more about the activities of the Very Saintly Ashiata Shiemash for the welfare of your favorites, I must, I think, elucidate to you, a little more in detail, that

Rodney Collin

Rodney Collin is a key figure in the history of esoteric thought and the Fourth Way tradition. He was a dedicated pupil of Peter Ouspensky – one of the few who went off to develop his own lineage after Ouspensky died. There can be little doubt that Collin’s unique contribution to the Gurdjieff Work has had a lasting impact. Nevertheless, little is known about his early life, the time he spent with Ouspensky, and his group work up to his mysterious death in Cuzco, Peru. This excellent 380-page biography fleshes out the details and reviews his life’s work.
