The German Tales Study Group ⥭

A series of meetings, where both the books: BEELZEBUBS ERZÄHLUNGEN FÜR SEINEN ENKEL and BEELZEBUB’S TALES TO HIS GRANDSON will be read – first some pages from the German Version and then the equivalent pages from the English Version.  The group will then discuss the meaning of both of the readings. The Meetings will last between 90 minutes and two hours.

The First Meetings will be held on Tuesday, November 5th ,2024. @ 7.00pm German time.

Subsequent meetings will be held weekly every Tuesday @ 7.00pm German time (6.00pm UK time, 1.00pm US East Coast Time, 12.00 US Central Time, 10.ooam US Pacific time.)

The meetings will be led by Robin Bloor who is widely regarded as an expert on Gurdjieff’s written Work, and Ekart Billing, who is a movements teacher and who has some familiarity with The Tales. Meetings will be conducted primarily in English with Ekant acting as a translator when there is a need to conduct conversations in German..

To assist attendees of these meetings, each week a PDF will be circulated which shows the German text and the English text side by side. We expect this to be useful to attendees in analyzing the text.

Meetings will be recorded on video and posted to this website within a day or two of the meeting. Additionally, summary notes will be provided. Attendees will be able to view and review those videos and notes as they please.

Attendees are warned, in advance, that some of the meaning hidden in the English version is not to be found in the German version and vice-versa. This is one of the reasons that led us to provide this program of meetings.
